Groundings: Seek and You Will Find—Postures of the Spiritual Journey

  • Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, Ignatius Hall 1079 Summit Avenue Saint Paul, MN, 55105 United States (map)

Groundings is a monthly lecture series offered September through May by Sacred Ground in collaboration with Loyola Spirituality Center and the Ignatian Spirituality Center at Saint Thomas More. Groundings is open to anyone interested in deepening their spirituality, their capacity for deep listening, and their contemplative engagement in our world.

How does your spiritual journey express through your body?  What wisdom does your body hold about God that might help your heart and mind?

Many spiritual directors have claimed that vocation because of a spiritual hunger or search to come ever closer to God. Many of our directees are in the midst of their own spiritual search.  Join us as Sarah Cledwyn invites us to explore our body's wisdom as it relates to seeking and finding God right here and now.

Together, we will delve into experience in our bodies so that we have a clearer understanding of how and why we search for God. We will explore the embodiment of spiritual seeking and the deep dwelling of experiencing God alive, now, moving and expressing.  When we use these tools for ourselves, we can better hold space and explore spiritual seeking with our directees. Ultimately it gives us a framework to increase awareness of what is still looking and what is already found.

Sarah Cledwyn, MA is a full-time spiritual director and spiritual direction supervisor in St. Paul.  Sarah is ever curious about spiritual transformation and healing, studying and experimenting with embodied spiritual practices. She especially loves non-duality, focusing, dreamwork and the labyrinth.  When Sarah isn't nerding out on spiritual stuff, she enjoys gardening, walking, cooking and camping with her two kids.  If you would like to know more about Sarah, you can check out her website at GrowSoul.com where you can get a free gift of a Transformation Locator Map for joining her very occasional mailing list.
